Junior & Senior Infants 2017\2018
National Tree Day
Here are some pic of Seniors investigating all our beautiful school trees. We saw a spider eating a fly and the cows enjoyed learning about the Ash and Sequia trees! Susie and Keelin ( who's mum is called Susan) found a tree whose name was Susan also!
After we looked at our beautiful trees we explored different leaf shapes and textures. We then did some leaf rubbings which we loved!
JI Winter Welly Walk
Junior Infants enjoyed a Winter Welly Walk in December.
Santa letters!
Infants took great care to write their letters to Santa!
Infants using iPads
Our infants have enjoyed using our bank of iPads during the year.

Junior infants learned all about the optician through play. Some even discovered that they needed glasses!
Our taste investigation
Junior infants tasted foods that were sweet, sour, bitter and salty to see which they liked or disliked.

SI School Tour
On May 28th, Senior Infants went to The Glen Resource Centre. They did lots of fun activities like Roller Racers, Snow Tubing, Moonwalkers, Space Hoppers, Obstacle Courses, Bouncy Castle and the Bungee Trampoline! They enjoyed their lunch after a busy and fun filled day. Ms Collins' Senior Infants voted for their favourite activity on the school tour. We then made a bar chart to show our results. Snow Tubing was a clear favourite!
JI digging up our seed potatoes
In June, Ms.Moynihan and Michael, our caretaker, kindly helped Junior Infants dig up the seed potatoes they had planted. They were amazed at how many were there and brought home a bagful for dinner!
JI camogie girls
Here are some of the girls who play camogie together for Sliabh Rua.
Summer saunter
Junior Infants spotted many summer flowers and lots of minibeasts on our walk around the school grounds.
