Sixth class OEC trip

Ms.M.Murphy's Sixth class went to Kinsale OEC to experience an ‘Outdoor Classroom’ on the 12th October.  They enjoyed the lessons thoroughly!

 

Award for Art Competition

Ms.O'Hea's Sixth class were presented with a prize from Cupcake Cottage recently for winning an Art competition.  Well done!
 

Fifth class orienteering trip

Irish Schools Orienteering – Fifth class visited Doneraile Park and at a later date, Munster Agricultural Society Showgrounds, Curraheen during September.  They enjoyed various orienteering challenges as you can see from the photographs.

Positive Ageing Award

Congratulations to Sofia, fifth class -  here she is being presented with her prize for the overall best entry in the Positive Ageing Week art competition by Angela Shanahan, Kinsale Tourist Office.

Christmas Performance

Fifth class mesmerised their audience with their play of how the Grinch stole Christmas!

Tidy Towns

Ms.McCarthy's Fourth and Fifth classes tidied up the Belgooly Walk recently for the Tidy Towns!

 

Bórd Iascaigh Mhara guided trip to our local river

On 4th May Sixth classes visited our local river to learn more about the habitat!  This supports work done on their "Something Fishy" project.

 

Fifth class school tour

 Fifth class went to the West Cork Secret, Kilbrittain for their school tour on 14th May.  They took part in lots of team building games and really enjoyed the mud slide!  As you can see from the photos they had a challenging but exhilarating time!
 

Port of Cork visit

 Fifth classes entered a project with a design model for the new port, when it relocates to the lower harbour.  This is currently on display in the Cobh Maritime Development Building.  They went on a trip to view it and other schools' entries.
 

Sixth class Scríobh leabhar award and Seo Linn concert

 Sixth class attended the 'Scríobh Leabhar Award' event and 'Seo Linn' concert at Fitzgerald's Park in May.

Sixth class visit UCC

 Sixth class had an excursion to UCC in June.  They explored the campus, the chapel and many of the lecture halls.

KCS Blitz

Well done to 5th class who took part in the Kinsale Community School hurling and Camogie blitz recently and won both blitzes! They both beat Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile and Innishannon in their groups.

Then the boys went on to beat Innishannon again in the final and the girls beat the Gaelscoil in their final. Thanks to the the new club coaching group who organized the blitz! It was a great initiative to promote hurling in Kinsale Community school!

Sixth class debating team

 Sixth class went to the Radisson Hotel recently to take part in a debating contest.  They represented our school very well.

Sciath na Scol Camogie Blitz

Well done to the girls in 6th class who won the Roinn A Carrigdhoun Sciath na Scol Camogie blitz recently. They beat Balinadee and Innishannon! Super stuff girls!

Sixth class party

 Sixth class had a great party, organised by our PA, to finish off their time in school.  Best of luck to all pupils in the future!
