Principal's welcome

We wish to extend a very warm welcome to this website and our school – a 370 pupil co-educational centre of primary education.  Under the dedicated and committed stewardship of past and current staff members, Boards of Management, Parents’ Associations and school families, we are fortunate to enjoy a well-resourced learning environment set amongst a beautiful rural landscape which adds to the learning experience and general well-being for all.

Recognising the many unique elements of each individual child, we strive for excellence in all areas of a child’s development by providing a range of broad and balanced learning opportunities for the pupils e.g. academic, the arts, sport...  The development of life-long learning skills, the formation of active community member attributes and the realisation of a compassionate Christian disposition all aim to serve the pupils throughout life’s journey.

The website endeavours to reflect the pupils’ positive school and learning experience at Scoil Mhuire na nGrást.  This was acknowledged in our recent Whole School Evaluation, as conveyed in the following short extract:

Pupils are mannerly, well-behaved and polite.  Classroom atmospheres are affirmative and pupils’ interactions demonstrate high levels of confidence.  They are managed by teachers in a caring and empathic manner.  Pupils are facilitated to engage in a range of extracurricular and co-curricular subjects including sporting and musical activities.  Pupils’ responses to questionnaires were positive suggesting that they feel safe in their school and they consider Scoil Mhuire na nGrást to be a good school.
