Reading in the Sensory Garden

Fifth and Sixth class enjoyed the sunshine at D.E.A.R. (Drop everything and read) time and brought their books to the sensory garden.

Healthy eating

Ms.Murphy's Fifth and Sixth class enjoyed fruit given by Centra, Riverstick recently as part of our Healthy eating drive.

Soccer blitz

Some of our Fifth and Sixth class boys trained for a few weeks before Easter with Mr.Harte and Mrs.Finn.  Two teams of Sixth class boys participated in an FAI run blitz in Carrigaline AFC and both teams did very well.

Sciath na Scol Football

The girls football team played Scartleigh in Aghada in  September.  Sciath na Scol football training has been held on Wednesdays until 4pm and both girls and boys teams have participated in blitz' in Kinsale and Ballygarvan respectively, where they have enjoyed all games.
 

U13 Munster Final Indoor relay

Katie, Grace and Caoimhe came second recently in the Munster Finals of the under 13 indoor relay.  This event was held in Nenagh Olympic Indoor track.  They are now through to the All Ireland Finals which will be held on 25th March in Athlone.  Best of luck girls!

Town planning

The students in 5th/6th class were learning about settlements, different types of buildings and town plans in Geography. Using match sticks, lollipop sticks and peg halves they worked together in small groups to plan their own towns, choosing what features and buildings to include.​

 

ICA Ladies

The ICA ladies have dedicated some of their time to our sixth classes to teach them how to knit.  Sixth class are thoroughly enjoying learning this new skill.
